For Gender Expansive Individuals

When I say gender expansive, I mean anyone who doesn’t identify as cisgender, whether it may mean that you are questioning, are actively seeking out HRT or gender affirming surgery, or are living outside of the binary or outside of gender altogether. I welcome you, wherever you are in your journey. I have specialized training specifically for helping gender expansive individuals cope with the many stressors related to the experience of being gender-diverse in a world that is obsessed with binaries and scientifically unsubstantiated biological determinism. I specifically work with folks who are experiencing dysphoria related to the body they are living in, sexuality, struggles with food and eating as a result of dysphoria, preparing for transitioning (and the many different pathways towards that, whether it be a medical pursuit or learning how to be more confident in your own skin and present the way you feel internally), as well as working with healing from traumatic invalidation related to being shamed by family members and systems as a whole. I am especially helpful when it comes to work around intersections related to gender expansiveness, neurodivergence and struggles with disordered eating.

I want to help you:

  • know yourself & feel comfortable in your presentation

  • reconnect to your body and sexuality— if you have started HRT or have had gender-affirming surgery or if you have decided otherwise

  • help you discover how to affirm your gender identity, whether it be fluid or more concrete

  • heal from a history of traumatic invalidation & help you find or build communities that accept & bolster you for who you are.

  • help you decide if medical transition is right for you

You deserve to be seen & supported for who you are, not for who others think you should be.

Please note that at this time I am only writing gender affirming care letters for clients I see consistently and am not completing one-off assessments for surgery or HRT. This may change in time. I have many feelings about the gatekeeping involved in this process and would like to be able to offer low-fee, accessible options for letters when I am out of school. For now, here is a link for gender-affirming letter services that are free and/or low cost.
